Literary SoulFEST is held to celebrate African American literary heritage and contemporary authors and to stimulate public interest in reading during National Family Literacy Month. By gathering together classic books and contemporary writing talent, the festival provides an opportunity for participants to cultivate an understanding of our history, culture and community.

DFW Literary SoulFEST will be held during Family Literacy Month in November at The Dock Bookshop in Fort Worth, TX. DFW Literary Soulfest centers around the African American literary experience. This year's theme is Wakanda Forever Weekend. The Literary Soulfest will kick off with the red carpet movie premiere of Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever on November 10th. The SoulFEST will take place on November 12 from 11-4 pm. The SoulFest will include a fun Wakanda Paint Party for adults and children, which requires registration on the event website. Event day will be full of drumming, presentations, conversations, panels, and book-related activities open to the general public. This is a great opportunity to connect with families, avid and novice readers, book clubs, reading groups, educators, professionals and social organizations.
