She is particularly proud of the six published children's books she's illustrated and her pieces highlighting Black American and diasporic experiences and culture. She garners inspiration from the lived experiences of herself, her peers, and her community in modern and historical social and aesthetic contexts. Recently she has gotten into ceramics, exploring wheel throwing and hand-building.
