SHE MOVES DIFFERENT by Yeabtsega Getachew

Hello, I am Yeabtsega Getachew, a digital artist based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Art is the passion that gives me the freedom to explore ideas in my own personal way of thinking. I love creating art because it is the realm where I can think outside of the box and express deep and meaningful ideas the way I want them to be. It challenges me to see far out into the future and think whether I will be able to impact the way we see art from the country I live in.

Most of my work seeks to use a method to convey abstract ideas that any viewer can interpret and relate to their personal life. Doing what I do is a privilege I am thankful for.

This piece illustrates the mindset of a woman fully aligned with who she is. She doesn’t need permission, approval, or explanation. Her energy speaks long before she does.

"I Am Enough. Fearless & Focused. Calm. Confident. Clear." Each affirmation reflects the discipline it takes to walk in purpose and remain rooted while rising. She embodies the balance so many chase: Soft & Strong. Grace in Power. Fearless & Focused. This is what it looks like when a woman chooses herself—daily, intentionally, unapologetically.

This piece illustrates the quiet presence of an assured woman.  She doesn’t follow energy—she defines it. And that’s why, without saying a word . . . She Moves Different.
